Signing in to Seldeo

By The Seldeo Support TeamUpdated 2026-09-08

Seldeo does not use passwords. There is exactly one way to sign in: a passkey — the same face, fingerprint, or screen-lock check you already use to unlock your device. There are no passwords to remember, no codes to type at sign-in, and nothing for a phishing site to steal.

If you want the background on how passkeys work and why we chose them, read the guide Passkeys explained. This article covers the Seldeo-specific mechanics.

Signing in

  1. Open the Seldeo app.
  2. On the welcome screen, tap Sign in.
  3. Your device shows its own passkey prompt — Face ID, fingerprint, or your screen-lock PIN, depending on the device.
  4. Approve it. You're in.

That's the whole flow. If you're new to Seldeo, tap Create account instead: the app creates a passkey for you as the first step of sign-up, then walks you through the required recovery setup (security questions, a recovery email, and a contact phone number).

Signing in on a new device

A passkey lives with your device — or with the password manager your device platform provides.

  • Synced passkeys. If your passkey was saved to iCloud Keychain or Google Password Manager, it follows you to any device signed in to the same Apple or Google account. On the new device, tap Sign in and the passkey is offered automatically.
  • Device-bound passkeys. Some passkeys never leave the device they were created on. In the app's passkey list, each entry is marked either synced or this device only, so you can tell which kind you have.

Once you're signed in on a new device, add a passkey for that device too: go to Settings → Account → Account security → Passkey and tap Add a passkey. The app's own advice is worth repeating here: add one on each device you use, and keep at least two so you're never locked out.

If the passkey prompt doesn't appear

  • Check the device screen lock. Passkeys require a screen lock (biometric or PIN) to be set up on the device. If the device has no screen lock, set one first.
  • Check you're signed in to the right platform account. A synced passkey only appears if the device is signed in to the same Apple or Google account that holds it.
  • Update the app. Very old versions of Seldeo may not pass current security checks. Update from the App Store or Play Store and try again.
  • Check the connection. Sign-in needs a live network path to our servers.

If you have no passkey on any device

If every device with your passkey is lost, broken, or reset, use account recovery instead. On the welcome screen, tap Account recovery and follow the steps — you'll need your recovery email and one of the recovery codes you saved at sign-up (or, failing that, your security questions). The full walkthrough is in Recovering a lost account.

Step-up checks on sensitive actions

For a small set of high-impact actions — such as removing a passkey or deleting your account — Seldeo asks you to confirm with your passkey again, even though you're already signed in. This is deliberate: a session that has been open for weeks shouldn't be enough on its own to authorize an irreversible change.
